How To Benefit

Our resources are in development, but please register to get involved for early access to resources for pilot testing.

1 HANDS ON Open Education Resources (OERS)– a Learning Centres Toolbox

We will provide educators with the necessary resources to promote and facilitate the learning of girls and women in STEAM fields. The Learning Centres Toolbox is co-led by Creative Spark and FabLab Porto and involves the  design and piloting of three new learning paths that VET educators including teachers, assistant teachers, and trainee assistant teachers can provide to girls and women of various ages.

  1. Hands-On Exploratory Path for girls (8– 15 years),
  2. A tailored programme to prepare female students (15+) for future careers in fields such as engineering, design, and manufacturing,
  3. An innovation/entrepreneurship path for Women Innovations from 25 +

Our resources are being designed to be used flexibly in different scenarios.

2 MentHER

Focuses on mentoring and role-modelling opportunities for female students with female professionals in STEAM fields who can share their unique experiences, guidance and support. Mentoring is a versatile and open training tool because it provides personalised guidance, builds skills and knowledge, fosters a supportive learning environment, encourages experimentation and exploration, and facilitates networking and career development.

FabConnectHer will provide opportunities in each partner country for mentorship and role modelling, connecting girls with female professionals in STEAM fields who can share their experiences and offer guidance and support. This will involve our Associate Partners as connectors to mentor opportunities.

3 EU LAB-TO-LAB EDUCATORS FORUM

We are establishing  a FabConnectHer Connected Educators Ecosystem between Fab Labs on an EU basis that will explore how we as educators can collaborate and exchange knowledge, delivering on a Local Learning Centres priority. Once networked, we will facilitate co-creation and innovation among Fab Labs educators through an end-of-project challenge developing prototypes and solutions.    So, what does this work package involve?

  • Mapping the education ecosystem, a deep mapping exercise to identify the education offering of Fab Labs in Europe,
  • Establishing connections through 4 biannual virtual events, supported by feeder workshops and meetups,
  • Sharing best practices via virtual tour series
  • Facilitating co-creation and innovation among Fab Labs educators through an end of project challenge developing prototypes and solutions to real-world problems, providing opportunities for female students to apply their skills and knowledge in practical ways.

All our learning outcomes will optimise accessibility, inclusion and gender empowerment.
