En octubre de 2025 se celebr\u00f3 el primer FabConnectHer STEAM Challenge. Estudiantes, profesores y mentores STEAM de Islandia, Portugal, Espa\u00f1a, los Pa\u00edses Bajos e Irlanda se reunieron en Dundalk durante tres d\u00edas de creaci\u00f3n, aprendizaje y colaboraci\u00f3n. El tema de la semana \u2013 Tejiendo Sabidur\u00eda Antigua con Innovaci\u00f3n Futura<\/em> \u2013 se demostr\u00f3 r\u00e1pidamente, especialmente una vez que los prototipos comenzaron a tomar forma. \u00a1Siga leyendo para descubrir c\u00f3mo llegaron los equipos y qu\u00e9 crearon!<\/p>\n

Tras llegar el lunes por la tarde, los grupos fueron recibidos con una muestra pr\u00e1ctica de la herencia irlandesa: la creaci\u00f3n de un cintur\u00f3n tradicional Crios Belt con la facilitadora Una Curley.<\/em><\/p>\n

Fase 1: De las ideas a los primeros bocetos<\/strong><\/p>\n

El primer d\u00eda completo comenz\u00f3 en la sede de Creative Spark con un recorrido por las instalaciones, algunas actividades de dinamizaci\u00f3n y un ejercicio utilizando cartas de Pok\u00e9mon con mujeres inspiradoras en STEAM. Fue un punto de partida l\u00fadico: cada equipo cre\u00f3 una carta para su modelo a seguir elegido, lo que gener\u00f3 los primeros debates sobre las contribuciones de las mujeres a STEAM.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de esta presentaci\u00f3n, los grupos aprendieron m\u00e1s sobre su desaf\u00edo para la semana: crear un prototipo inspirado en s\u00edmbolos culturales, sabidur\u00eda ancestral y su propia herencia. Pronto, las mesas se cubrieron de bocetos, patrones, historias y moodboards. Como cada equipo reun\u00eda a estudiantes de diferentes pa\u00edses, las ideas r\u00e1pidamente se dirigieron hacia una pregunta compartida: \u00bfC\u00f3mo podemos fusionar nuestras culturas e historias en algo nuevo?<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

Como FabConnectHer, adoptamos un enfoque multifac\u00e9tico para empoderar a ni\u00f1as y mujeres en STEAM, combinando aprendizaje pr\u00e1ctico, inspiraci\u00f3n y mentor\u00eda. El Desaf\u00edo STEAM reflej\u00f3 este enfoque a lo largo de la semana. Cada d\u00eda finaliz\u00f3 con una sesi\u00f3n de reflexi\u00f3n guiada por mentoras, centr\u00e1ndose en temas relacionados con la colaboraci\u00f3n, la confianza y el desarrollo personal. El primer d\u00eda se centr\u00f3 en construir confianza en el grupo, definir roles y reflexionar sobre c\u00f3mo colaborar bien en un equipo internacional. Utilizando los materiales de mentor\u00eda de FabConnectHer para profundizar en el tema e iniciar conversaciones abiertas.<\/p>\n

Un mentor reflexion\u00f3 m\u00e1s tarde sobre esta din\u00e1mica:<\/p>\n

\u201cEl grupo compuesto \u00fanicamente por mujeres cre\u00f3 un espacio seguro donde todos se sent\u00edan c\u00f3modos para hacer preguntas y compartir abiertamente. El entorno internacional, que reuni\u00f3 diferentes culturas y habilidades, a\u00f1adi\u00f3 a\u00fan m\u00e1s valor.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Fase 2: De los bocetos a la creaci\u00f3n de prototipos<\/strong><\/p>\n

El mi\u00e9rcoles, el grupo visit\u00f3 Newgrange y el sitio de la Batalla del Boyne para experimentar la historia irlandesa de cerca. Estar frente a estructuras m\u00e1s antiguas que las pir\u00e1mides gener\u00f3 nuevas ideas y ayud\u00f3 a los equipos a repensar sus bocetos anteriores.<\/p>\n

Para la tarde, las cortadoras l\u00e1ser estaban funcionando, las impresoras 3D zumbaban y los equipos daban forma a sus ideas en prototipos reales.<\/p>\n

Las reflexiones de mentor\u00eda de ese d\u00eda fueron m\u00e1s profundas. El enfoque se centr\u00f3 en los desaf\u00edos que enfrentan las ni\u00f1as en STEAM, compartiendo experiencias y encontrando formas de generar confianza y apoyarse mutuamente. Estas conversaciones crearon un espacio para la honestidad y brindaron a las mentoras la oportunidad de inspirar a trav\u00e9s de sus propias historias.<\/p>\n

Un estudiante lo captur\u00f3 bien:<\/p>\n

\u201cTodas podr\u00edamos identificarnos unas con otras en experiencias comunes como mujeres...<\/em> Fue agradable saber que mujeres de or\u00edgenes tan diferentes pod\u00edan encontrar cosas y experiencias que ten\u00edan en com\u00fan, pero tambi\u00e9n fue triste que, a pesar de ser tan diferentes, todas parec\u00edamos tener experiencias similares con respecto a las barreras.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fase 3: Sprint de prototipado y presentaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/p>\n

El \u00faltimo d\u00eda se dedic\u00f3 a terminar prototipos y preparar presentaciones. Los equipos a\u00f1adieron los \u00faltimos detalles, ensayaron sus historias y se prepararon para presentar.<\/p>\n

Las juezas Deirdre Maccormack y Joan McCann, dos l\u00edderes galardonadas en STEAM, emprendimiento y negocios, quedaron impresionadas. Destacaron la creatividad de las ideas, el uso reflexivo de elementos culturales y la forma en que cada equipo tradujo la herencia en algo moderno y significativo.<\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de las presentaciones, los grupos se reunieron para una \u00faltima sesi\u00f3n de mentor\u00eda, esta vez centrada en los objetivos futuros. Utilizando el \u00c1rbol de Habilidades STEAM, los estudiantes mapearon las habilidades que ya poseen e identificaron las \u00e1reas en las que desean crecer a continuaci\u00f3n. La plantilla est\u00e1 disponible en la plataforma en l\u00ednea de FabConnectHer para quienes quieran probarla.<\/p>\n

Un mentor resumi\u00f3 la semana maravillosamente:<\/p>\n

\u201cTrabajar en equipos de diferentes nacionalidades anim\u00f3 a los estudiantes a encontrar puntos en com\u00fan, lo que llev\u00f3 a un gran trabajo en equipo. Algunos no se dieron cuenta de que ten\u00edan ciertas habilidades STEAM hasta que las usaron, y ese descubrimiento aument\u00f3 su confianza. Un estudiante incluso aprendi\u00f3 Rhino por primera vez y ahora est\u00e1 motivado para seguir explorando el modelado 3D. Fue una actividad que vali\u00f3 la pena repetir.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

El \u00e9xito de la semana provino de su combinaci\u00f3n de creaci\u00f3n pr\u00e1ctica, tutor\u00eda s\u00f3lida, modelos inspiradores y la din\u00e1mica \u00fanica de reunir a j\u00f3venes de toda Europa. Las estudiantes aprendieron a encontrar puentes entre culturas, abrazar la diversidad en su trabajo en equipo y dar espacio a las ideas de los dem\u00e1s.<\/p>\n

Un poderoso recordatorio de por qu\u00e9 existe FabConnectHer, y por qu\u00e9 el STEAM Challenge no ser\u00e1 el \u00faltimo. Y para terminar: aqu\u00ed est\u00e1n los prototipos que los estudiantes presentaron con orgullo al final de la semana. Cada uno cuenta su propia historia de colaboraci\u00f3n, cultura y creatividad.<\/p>\n
