Als onderdeel van onze FabConnectHer partnerbijeenkomst in het prachtige Le\u00f3n, Spanje, organiseerden onze gastheren van FabLab Le\u00f3n een workshop. De uitdaging was om een e-monster te cre\u00ebren, in de vorm van een vilten figuur met een LED-oog uit het spel met een ruimtethema, dat probeert te achterhalen wie de bedrieger is in het spel, Among Us. Omdat onze gastvrouw en manager van FabLab Le\u00f3n, Nuria Robles, ons een reeds voorbereid pakket had uitgereikt met een sjabloon en alles wat we nodig zouden hebben, dacht ik dat dit eenvoudig zou zijn, dit zou kinderspel zijn.<\/p>\n

Nou, dommer kon het niet, ondanks de stap-voor-stap instructies op het scherm en begeleiding van Nuria, worstelde ik vanaf het begin. Ik was verrast hoe mijn innerlijke 8-jarige zelf nog steeds getekend was van het proberen te leren breien als linkshandige. Adri\u00e1n, die samenwerkte met FabLabLeon, zag al snel mijn gebrek aan behendigheid met de schaar en voorzag me van een ander paar dat aan mijn behoeften voldeed. Nadat de LED werd uitgelegd, bevestigden we deze met speciaal tape en testten we enthousiast het concept, waarbij een regenboog aan kleuren door de kamer flitste. Ik werd herinnerd aan het motto van mijn vader, \u201cTwee keer meten is \u00e9\u00e9n keer snijden\u201d, nadat ik op mysterieuze wijze zonder tape kwam te zitten en om meer moest vragen om het binnenmechanisme van mijn monster te bevestigen.<\/p>\n

Vervolgens kwam het naaiwerk, en ondanks de voorgesneden markeringen op het vilt, was het niet altijd duidelijk waar te beginnen om het oog en het zijstuk effectief vast te zetten. Na een periode van intense concentratie, weerspiegeld door de rust in de kamer, kregen de e-monsters langzaam hun definitieve vorm. Op sommige momenten vroeg ik me af of ik wat van de minder perfecte steken moest uithalen, maar toen ik zag dat anderen ook struikelden, realiseerde ik me dat \u2018af\u2019 beter is dan \u2018perfect\u2019 (een levensles daar) en dus ging ik door.<\/p>\n

Een uur en een half nadat we begonnen waren, en dankzij de geruststellende begeleiding en steun van Adrian en Nuria, konden we onze e-monsters tentoonstellen en paraderen voor een groepsfoto. Mijn werkelijke leerervaring was het observeren van het scala aan gevoelens en emoties die ik gedurende het proces ervoer. Ik twijfelde aan mijn eigen kunnen en zelfvertrouwen. Ironisch genoeg voelde ik me een beetje een bedrieger, omdat ik dacht dat anderen vaardiger zouden zijn op dit gebied. Met geduld en doorzettingsvermogen cre\u00eberde ik iets tastbaars waar ik trots op was. Het was een waardevolle ervaringsgerichte leerervaring die me deed nadenken over hoe het zou zijn voor FabConnectHer's doelgroep van meisjes van acht jaar en ouder om een soortgelijke ervaring te hebben en een FabLab te gebruiken om iets te cre\u00ebren, een nieuw concept te leren en misschien buiten hun comfortzone te treden in een veilige en ondersteunende leeromgeving.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
