Fab Lab Aldeias do Xisto

The Fab Lab Aldeias do Xisto is a prototyping laboratory certified by a Worldwide Network with more than 2,700 Fab Labs. Designed as a space for creation and experimentation, anyone has the opportunity to design, test and create innovative solutions at low cost using advanced technology. Focused on training young people and supporting the industry, the Fab Lab Aldeias do Xisto has specialized technicians certified by the Fab Academy, to turn ideas into reality.

Born in the Fab Lab Aldeias do Xisto, there is also the Craft Lab Project with the aim of bringing generations together by reinventing traditions in its laboratories, such as Olaria Lab, Cestaria Lab and Embutidos Lab. Here, artisanal techniques and digital technologies find new forms of expression, preserving ancestral knowledge and uniting master craftsmen and young creators. Finalists in the New European Bahaus Awards and recognized as one of UNESCO’s Cities of Learning, the Craft Lab promotes a unique fusion between tradition and innovation.
